CKGSB and CFA China jointly organized Private Equity Forum
The Private Equity (PE) Forum, which was jointly organized by Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and CFA China PE committee, was held at the parish of CKGSB on November 19, 2011. During the forum, a heated and professional discussion of the current situation, issues and prospects of the PE industry in China was conducted among the alumni and students of CKGSB and CFA members.
This forum was hosted by Wan Liang, one initiator of CFA China PE Investment Club and Director of Minmetals Capital (H.K.) Limited. The panellists include Dr. Laura Xiaolei Liu, visiting Assistant Professor of Finance at CKGSB; Zheng Yuanyong, Partner of CDH VC; Frank Yi Han, Executive Director of Bohai Industrial Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd; HENG Teck Yong, Director of Temasek; Samuel Xie, Vice President of Beijing Joseph Investment Co.,Ltd.
In the two and a half hour during the forum, all of the elites in PE industry, business and academic circles took the floor and exchanged views to each other. Everyone participated in discussing the following issues: "Bet on the horse or the jockey?”, “How to strengthen the management team after the investment?”, “What’s the impact on PE investment of the price inversion between primary and secondary markets?”, “How to view the current trend that VC investment is more and more moving towards earlier stage (angel investment) and PE investment is more and more moving towards later stage (Pre-IPO and PIPE)?”. Besides, alumni and students of CKGSB and CFA members explored their new ideas and made friends with each other.
