Beijing, November 22-25, 2010 – Cheung Kong MBA Alumni Kelly He attended the four days 2010 Global Sustainable Leaders Forum on Monday.
Organised by Youth and the United Nations and Secretary of United Nations, the forum was joined together by another 100 Youth Organisations at Global Sustainable Leaders Forum (GSLF), aiming to promote cross-generation dialogue, youth innovation and public sustainable actions.
On behalf of Cheung Kong MBA Program, the Academic Sponsor of the entire 2010 GSLF, our MBA 09 Alumni, Kelly He joined many other excellent students from various universities at China National Conference Centre to discuss the greatly concerned and heated topic, ‘Green Investment: Opportunities and Challenges’.
The newly graduated He has long been a dedicated member in the development of low carbon green business. She studied in Australia at The University of New Wales with a major in Finance. After her graduation, she worked at Colonial First State in Australia and returned to China as Assistant to CEO then Project Manager, and later Vice President at CABIC. She has rich experience in strategic investment in Africa and the promotion of low carbon economies in other developing countries. She was also in charge of the development of green business cooperation between China and Africa.
At her speech, she brought our attention to the pressing problems the world is currently facing and how a revolutionary green industry could assist in creating a better future. Kelly encouraged the audience to actively reflect on the possible predicament when investing in this industry, the role of government, and how to combine finance and green industry together. Audiences did not only learn from her speech but she gave confidence in the world around us and in the plans to figure out next steps.
Kelly has a heart for charity and has been involved in an East Africa Solar Power development project, and initiated for CABIC to invest in the ‘Powering Africa’ Program. Prior to the charity program in Africa, as a student at Cheung Kong, she has also initiated the ‘One Bike, One Hope’ program and raised funds for schools in need amongst many other volunteer efforts.
