Dec 8, 2011 - CKGSB MBA Professor Talk & Info Session, Shenzhen
Professor LI Haitao, "Efficient Markets and Hedge Funds"
Can you or anyone beat the “market”? The question isn’t as trivial as it first seems. The financial wellbeing of millions of people and the strategies used to invest billions in capital rest on this question. Hundreds of companies, hedge funds, have developed under the belief that a talented individual or group of individuals can outperform and draw more profits than the market as a whole. Leaders of these companies, such as Warren Buffet and George Soros, have become celebrities based on their abilities to grow wealth faster than the market. Are those leaders the exception that proves the rule or the rule?
“Efficient Markets and Hedge Funds” explores this question and how the answer affects hedge funds and investing.
